Johnson Co. KS Digital Cemetery Project
Lost Cemeteries
There are a total of 5 cemeteries that were listed on the 1874 Johnson County Atlas that no longer can be
found. It is likely the remains interred here were never removed, however any markers or designation of the
original location has been removed. Two of these cemeteries were shown on all the atlases (1874, 1886, 1902,
and 1922), while others were only designated on the 1874 Atlas.
The purpose of this portion of the project is to find and document, through research and interviews, any
information about these cemeteries or the pioneers that owned the land at the time, and better define the
original location.
